How do you stop the automatic firmware update when playing game? what software do I need?

I think what your looking for is wab version changer
http://www.wab.com/tools/Wab_Version_Changer_V2.rar

tricks the psp into thinking it's running 2.0 firmware so u can play games requiring higher versions than 1.5

cool, altough they will have to bring out a new one soon to trick it into thinking its 2.5(when the more modern games come out)
