Is the region code in the firmware?

??? The reason I ask is because I have a region 2, 2.0 PSP. I want to downgrade to 1.50(for obvious reasons) but want to be able to still play my region 2 UMD movies. If the region code is in the firmware can someone tell me where to get japanese 1.50 firmware as the japs are region 2 also.

I never actually think about this problem before but i should not think so.

It would be too easy for people who wants to change their PSP region coding.
